My video rants about “Asaase Sound Clash” was a strategy to get me trending — SAMINI reveals in a latest interview with Seani B on Asaase Radio 99.5.

For the first time, Samini has openly granted an interview on Asaase Sound Clash to detail his reasons for social media rants.

Seani B, international disc jockey who plays on BBC Radio 1Xtra in London as well as runs a syndicated Dancehall show on Ghana-based Asaaase Radio 99.5fm on the night of Thursday, September 10, 2020 interviewed Samini live from Canada (where he has been held in quarantine since March 2020).

He interviewed Samini on varied topics related to music and his influences.

In a rather shocking revelation, Samini says his live social media videos were a ploy to pull numbers!

“My rants on social media about the clash was to have me trend, and I achieved that. It was my smart way to get involved as well. There is still unfinished business between me and Shatta Wale. I wasn’t surprised to see Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale names come up for the Sound Clash. My longevity in the game is good reason enough to include me in Sound Clash such as this one. I don’t see the reason why anyone would disagree with me on this”, Samini revealed.

MIKE AKOX

It’s been decades since the emergence of Afro-‐Beat but the last 5 years has birthed an entire movement from dozens of different African nations. This movement has started to influence the African diaspora on a worldwide level with emerging talent coming from big Western territories such the US & Europe, however, Mike Akox is on a path towards being the first ever Afro-‐Beat artist to come out of the Australian continent.

The Ghanaian-‐born artist has spent the last 15 years in Western Sydney, Australia and has now returned home to Accra, Ghana to undertake the next phase of his career towards international stardom with the anticipation of his debut Patience EP scheduled to be released in late 2020.

Over the last year Mike’s string of singles have received praise from Australia media sources such as Triple J, Spotify & Apple Music, and Red Bull Music Australia. Whether it’s on the infectious lead single “Spectacular”, the elegantly smooth “Dance For Me” or the futuristically captivating “OKAY”, Mike’s signature melodies & blend of international sounds is a recipe for a takeover as he returns to West Africa, the home of Afro-‐Beat music.

Rocky Dawuni Names EP, Drops Official Album Artwork — “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1”

$

After making an announcement of his maiden EP 2 weeks ago, Rocky
Dawuni moved a step further to give us the title as “Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1”.

“Voice of Bunbon, Vol. 1” couldn’t come through anytime better than now; after
Rocky Dawuni has fully returned to Ghana, his home base. The EP title resonates
his hometown, Bunbon, in the Northern Region of Ghana — this also accentuates
his Afro-centrism and deep-rooted African sounds and lyrics transported in his music
after 7 successful albums.

Pitched with a sub title as Volume 1 definitely means more of such would be coming
from the living legend cum global activist. This announcement comes with the
release of the official artwork for the EP, a full retro style that communicates
returning “back to the roots.”

According to Rocky Dawuni, “these new songs were born out of my desire to present
and project music that is rooted in the deep cultural traditions of Ghana yet
presented in way that it can relate to the modern world. Bunbon is my home town in
Northern Ghana. My musical carreer has always been firmly inspired by my
upbringing in the royal family of Bunbon and being educated in the indigenous ways.
This exposure to cultural appreciation has served as an important part of my world
view and music. My vision for this EP is to present a globalized version of African
culture. It also represents my maturity over the years as a voice for social
consciousness. In a time of uncertainty, we need songs and hymns that can touch
our emotional nerve and remind us that love and hope are an indestructible aspect of
the human experience that no amount of fear can take away.”

Rocky plans to release the EP in late October (date to be officially announced in few
days). The EP will be released in Ghana and then spread it to the rest of the world
with the hope that touring will return as early as possible.
